Khurram Naveed

Department of Advanced Programs and Designations

Khurram Naveed is the Chair of the Advanced Programs and Designations department and an assistant professor at the College for Financial Planning. He teaches graduate courses in both the personal financial planning and financial analysis programs and co-chairs the College’s research committee.
His research focuses on the intersection of financial planning, investment psychology, and market behavior. His work has been published in leading financial journals, including Financial Services Review and The Journal of Wealth Management, and he has presented at various academic and industry conferences, including the AFS Advanced Research in Financial Planning Conference, the Financial Planning Association Annual Conference, and the American Council on Consumer Interests Conference.

Khurram graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and later earned a Master of Arts in Economics and an MBA with honors from the same institution. He is also a CFA® charterholder and CFP® professional. He is currently a Ph.D. student at Kansas State University.

Previously, Khurram spent five years as a competitive rower, winning gold at the Midwest Rowing Championship, before transitioning to coaching. Over nine years, he developed high school and college athletes, leading teams to success at national regattas like the American Collegiate Rowing Association and USRowing Youth National Championships. Today, his coaching experience shapes his disciplined approach to academia and scholarship.
