Dinon Hughes is honored as the inaugural recipient of the College for Financial Planning’s 2026 Outstanding Early Career Alumni Award. A Bentley University graduate with a B.S. in Economics & Finance, Hughes joined Nvest Financial in 2022 as a Financial Planning Intern and advanced to Partner in January 2025 in recognition of his exceptional leadership and contributions to firm growth. He is currently pursuing an M.S. in Personal Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning.
In five years at Nvest, Hughes has been instrumental in doubling the firm’s client base, assets under management, and team size to approximately 1,000 families managing $850 million in assets. He successfully integrated retiring advisors’ businesses and led the transition from broker-dealer to fully independent model.
Hughes holds the CFP®, AIF®, ABFP®, and SE-AWMA® designations, along with Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses. Deeply committed to financial literacy education, he annually teaches at his high school in Maine and serves as board member and NextGen leader for the Financial Planning Association. He is active in the Rotary Club and Greater York Region Chamber of Commerce. Hughes has been featured as an expert in CNBC, CBS, Reuters, and MarketWatch.
