2026 Alumni Excellence in Mentorship Award Winner

Daniel Fagan

MSPFP, MPAS™, AIF®

We are thrilled to present the 2026 Alumni Excellence in Mentorship Award to Daniel Fagan, a wealth advisor and author whose 25+ years of experience guiding academics, physicians, and professionals exemplify a deep commitment to advancing the next generation of financial planning practitioners.

As Managing Partner and Senior Wealth Management Advisor at Radiant Wealth Management, an independent fiduciary advisory firm he founded in 2022, Fagan manages approximately $350 million in client assets under advisement. A graduate of the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in Political Science, he earned his Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning in 2024, along with MPAS™ and AIF® designations.

Throughout his career—including 17 years at TIAA serving faculty at Yale, Brown, UConn, and Wesleyan—Fagan has been known for deep technical expertise combined with genuine care for client outcomes. His forthcoming book, Getting to Emeritus: A Financial Guide for Faculty at Every Career Stage (Johns Hopkins University Press, August 2026), translates complex planning concepts into accessible guidance for academic professionals.

As a mentor in the College’s MSPFP program, Fagan exemplifies transformational mentorship. During Fall 2025, his partnership with mentee Christine Parker—featured in the College’s mentorship spotlight—directly resulted in her selection to the competitive Kitces.com writers’ workshop and publication of her research on financial caregiving for women in leadership. Fagan’s commitment to mentorship extends beyond formal programs; he serves as adjunct faculty at the University of New Haven and as a Board Member of Middlesex Community College Foundation, demonstrating his sustained investment in developing emerging talent and strengthening educational access.
