The College for Financial Planning® is a registered State Insurance CE Sponsor in all states that require sponsor registration. However, not all of the College’s course offerings are registered with each state. Click here to view which courses are registered in your state.
It is recommended that students use a Prometric, PSI, or ISO Quality Testing center for all College for Financial Planning examinations. Prometric, PSI, and ISO Quality Testing centers satisfy most states' and the College for Financial Planning's definition of a disinterested third party proctor. Please see below for exceptions.
A completed affidavit form is required to be submitted with your request for state insurance CE credit. IMPORTANT: Download the affidavit and bring it with you to the exam facility. You and the proctor must sign the affidavit immediately after completing the exam. Prometric proctors will emboss your grade report in lieu of signing the affidavit. The signed affidavit and embossed grade report must be submitted to the College along with your Request for CE Credit form.
If you choose to take your examination at a facility other than Prometric, PSI, or ISO Quality Testing center, you must arrange for your own disinterested third party* to serve as your proctor or monitor. If using your own disinterested third party proctor, download the affidavit and bring it with you to the exam facility. Both you and the proctor must sign the affidavit immediately after completing the exam. The signed affidavit (or a copy) must be submitted with your request for CE.
PLEASE NOTE: Your state may have proctor requirements that are more restrictive than the College’s proctor requirements. The following states have specific requirements regarding proctors/monitors and/or the type of affidavit used. For all other states, refer to the College’s proctor requirements.
Arkansas — A state-specific affidavit must be used. Prometric testing facilities are NOT approved for AR state insurance CE. PSI and ISO Quality Testing centers ARE approved.
New York— A state-registered monitor or Prometric testing facility must be used. PSI and ISO Quality Testing centers are NOT approved monitors for NY state insurance CE. Click here for a list of registered monitors in New York State. Click here for a monitor registration form. When using a state-registered monitor a state-specific affidavit must also be used.
South Carolina— A state-registered proctor or Prometric testing center must be used. PSI and ISO Quality Testing centers are NOT approved proctors for SC state insurance CE. Click here for a proctor registration form. A state-specific affidavit must be used.
To request that CE credits be reported to your state, download the Request for CE Credit form and send it to the College WITHIN ONE WEEK OF PASSING YOUR EXAM. The College for Financial Planning® does not accept responsibility for credits rejected by the state due to untimely submission of the Request for CE Credit form to the College.
*A monitor or proctor is a disinterested third party (DTP) who serves witness that you have satisfied the requirements of your course and testing procedures in an ethical manner. The proctor must be someone with whom the examinee has no business or family relationship. Business relationship is further defined as working within the same company regardless of physical location, title, or position. A proctor cannot be a currently enrolled student in any College for Financial Planning® courses.
