EXPECTATIONS OF COLLEGE PROGRAM STUDENTS

The College assumes you are committed to your program and are in agreement with the following:

  • Having a commitment to the time and energy required to complete your program.
  • Working through the course materials continuously (many students make their way through the courses in less than six months, although it is not unusual to take much longer).
  • Maintaining access to a telephone, fax machine, and PC to view materials; access to e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet software, and the Internet; as well as having a proficiency in using all these technologies.

COLLEGE PROGRAM COMPLETION TIME

On average, our programs require a commitment of 10 hours per week, differing depending on individual study habits. You are allowed up to one year to complete most of the courses described in this catalog, with the exception of the CFP Certification Professional Education Program, which allows up to three years to complete your studies in all five courses.

Please note that regardless of the length of time allotted for course/program completion, students must test every six months to remain in good standing in a course.

The College for Financial Planning® has more years of documented success as a provider of financial planning education than any other institution. Our students consistently acheive the highest pass rates on national certification exams. We know what it takes to be successful in our programs and we've now compiled our knowledge in our How to be Successful in the CFP Certification Professional Education Program. This publication contains interactive tools that can help you to estimate and develop your own time line for program completion. You can take advantage of this publication by contacting one of our enrollment representatives for a printed copy, or use the online version.
